FacultyHilary Garivaltis, AHC, RYT. Founder and Director. Hilary has trained and taught the introductory levels of Ayurvedic medicine since 2000. As the Founder and former Dean of the Kripalu School of Ayurveda, Hilary had the opportunity to work along side many of the leading teachers of Ayurveda throughout the country and in India. She has been responsible for educating hundreds of people from all walks of life. Through her unique experience she has honed the skills of curriculum refinement to meet the needs of the new student as well as the advanced student. In the spirit of collaboration and upliftment of the Ayurvedic community, Hilary has always been known for building great partnerships both in America and India. The faculty chosen to teach the Fundamentals of Ayurveda: Tools for Healthy Living™ are among the best that Hilary has had the opportunity to work with over the course of the past ten years. |Jay Apte, BAMS, MA has an integrated degree in Allopathic and Ayurvedic Medicine from Pune University in India, as well as a Master's degree in bio-medical sciences(Pharmacology). Dr. Apte worked for 9 years in India as a Gynecologist before migrating to the United States with her husband and two children. She has now been in practice for over 35 years. Dr Apte has been involved in Ayurvedic education for over 25 years as a principle owner of an Ayurvedic school and as faculty at many prestigious Ayurvedic schools throughout the country. Dr. Apte currently opened a new school - Ayurvidya College of America and runs a clinic - Dr. Jay's Ayurveda and Panchakarma Center in Mountain View, CA. |Dr. Gerard C Buffo, MD, Ayurvedic Practitioner, FACR completed his undergraduate education at Columbia University and his medical training at SUNY Stonybrook. He currently serves as a faculty member and researcher at the University of Hartford in their Health Science Department. Former CEO and President of CT Valley Radiology PC, and Chapter President of the American College of Radiology he remains an advisor and emeritus member to both. He has served on numerous medical boards and is an invited lecturer to both local and national symposia. His interests are in elder care, autism and alternative medicine. He recently completed training and national certification in Ayurvedic Medicine studying at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque NM, and Kripalu in Lenox MA. He teaches a course in Ayurveda for undergraduates at the University of Hartford and sees private patients at the office of the New England Integrative Health Associates in West Hartford and Ananda Yoga and Wellness Center, Southampton NY.
He is the proud father of 3 adult children and is married to Jean Ann for 31 years. He resides in Simsbury CT.

|Kathryn Templeton, MA, RDT/ MT, E-500 RYT, Ayurvedic Practitioner
Kathryn Templeton has devoted her life to the health of others. A psychotherapist for 30 years, Kathryn is a Master Teacher in the field of Drama Therapy and continues to work both clinically and as an educator specializing in the treatment of individuals with anxiety, depression and complex trauma. As an E-500 RYT, NAMA-registered Ayurvedic practitioner and Senior ParaYoga teacher, Kathryn has worked to develop specialized treatments integrating the principles of yoga, ayurveda and clinical psychology. Kathryn is a faculty member at the Himalayan Institute and the founder of the Himalayan Institute Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist program (HIAYS), Torchbearer Mentorship program, AYS Grad School and The Three Wisdom Traditions: Integrating Yoga, Ayurveda and Psychology (3WT). She is an Adjunct Professor of Human Development and General Psychology, a contributing writer, and educator for Yoga International, and a Banyan Botanicals Ambassador.
|Satya Narayana Dasa, PhD, is the author of 15 books related to Indian culture and philosophy. Founder of the Jiva Institute of Vaishnava Studies to promote Vedic culture, philosophy, and Ayurveda through education, he regularly teaches classes on Hindu philosophy, the Sanskrit language, and ancient Indian sciences for scholars from around the world. He has initiated a program for preservation, translation, and publication of ancient Indian works of science and wisdom, and serves as a visiting professor at the State University of New Jersey, Rutgers, and American Hindu University. |Sunil Joshi, BAMS, MD (Ayu), is a world renowned Ayurvedic physician from Nagpur, India. He serves on the advisory board of the Chopra Center for Well Being and has spoken at Columbia University, the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, and the National Institutes of Health in Washington DC. Currently, Dr. Joshi is involved in supporting the expansion of Ayurveda throughout North America, Europe, and South Africa, focusing a majority of his time teaching and practicing at his two primary centers in India and Albuquerque, New Mexico. |Pamela K. Myers AyP, LMT, eRYT 500- Certified Ayurveda Practitioner and Educator, Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master/Teacher, Registered Yoga Teacher and practices Ortho-Bionomy. (Specializes in pre and perinatal care) Advanced Ayurveda training January 2008 with Jiva Institute in Faridabad and Ashram in Vrindavan India (interviewed by New Delhi TV~ Ayurveda from a Western point of view), Kripalu Yoga Center for Yoga and Ayurveda, Xi Yuan Hospital (Beijing- Qigong training), Mali, West Africa (cultural and spiritual journey) brings wide variety into her practice. As Directress of the Anahata Center and practitioner, the focus is to connect individuals with teachings that support in a self healing process- through Ayurveda methodologies (consultations and classes), Massage Therapy, Reiki, Yoga (includes pranayama and meditation) and Drumming. |Jessica Richmond, LMHC, is a psychotherapist and Vedic Psychology Consultant. Jessica studies people's behavior and their mind. She specializes in empowering her clients by teaching them tools to manage any kind of unstable mental state from anxiety to depression to anger, and grief. Her clients report a sense of relief as Jessica guides them to see the root cause of their problem. Her work spans from helping drug addicts to those with relationship issues to mood disorders to grief. She also offers professional trainings for psychotherapists and Ayurvedic practitioners. She attributes her knowledge to her teacher, Dr. Satyanarayana Dasa, the pioneer of Vedic Psychology, who taught her how to apply the concepts to her own mind before she helped any client. |Anusha Sehgal Parivallal BAMS, MD (Ayu) is an Ayurvedic physician from the Boston area, who journeyed to India in 1998 to study Ayurveda. She has a masters in Ayurvedic pharmaceutics and has done an academic fellowship at Boston University focused on integrative medicine.
Dr. Anusha has taught the principles as well as the practice of Ayurveda to medical students, researchers and general health seekers both in India and the US. |Kristen Rae Stevens, E-RYT 500, AyC is an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, Consultant and Practitioner. She has extensive personal research in movement for healing and has been teaching and counseling since 1998. She is the director of Soma Yoga & Ayurveda, a teaching, training and healing resource that specializes in yoga for the individual through Somatic practice, Ayurvedic principles and hands on healing. In addition to her private practice she is a contributing faculty member for the Kripalu School of Ayurveda, ArborVitae School of Traditional Herbalism, Mount Sinai Medical College and ISHTA Yoga.
|Dominic Tambuzzo, Ayurvedic Practitioner and Bodyworker. Dominic discovered the healing art and science of Ayurveda (System of alternative healthcare and healing) during his travels in India in 2011. There he obtained an Ayurveda Massage Therapist (AMT) certification at the Ayuskama Institute of Ayurveda in Dharamsala. He has since continued to broaden his skills, acquiring various other Ayurveda Bodywork certifications and techniques in North America, notably at the Kripalu School of Ayurveda.
